As part of our relocation and porterage contracts Bishops Move is frequently asked to remove and dispose of unwanted furniture and equipment
As an environmentally conscious organisation, and in line with our ISO14001 accreditation, one of our main objectives is to put redundant office furniture to good use and prevent it from being needlessly sent to landfill.
Here, at Bishop's Move, we are passionate about reducing the amount of office furniture that is sent to landfill. We therefore work with each of our commercial clients to ensure that the right environment clearance, if required, is built in to their move plan from the start.
Where possible we will return the best value on the re-sale of furniture. Or we can help and advise on donating items to local schools, charities, such as Sense, Cancer Research UK and Dentaid to name but a few, as well as smaller community groups.
When we cannot pass on items, we will dismantle them into component parts (i.e wood, metal & plastic) for recycling. Through our partnerships, recycling & up-cycling efforts we currently achieve a 98% recycling rate on all items. Our goal is 0% landfill and we aim to achieve this in 2020.
Bishop's Move is registered with the Environmental Agency as a Waste Carrier, Broker & Dealer (CBDU316315). Following all clearance projects we will provide a report including copies of all weighbill notices / waste transfer notes and delivery sheets for local charities and good causes.
