Relocating the International Exhibition of Chinese Art (1935)

Back in 1935, our removal teams in London were involved with the delivery of over 800 works unseen in Europe before. The collection was from the Peking Palace Museum and included pottery, porcelain, paintings, calligraphy, jades, sculptures, bronzes, textiles and lacquer all transported to the UK on the county-class cruiser, the H.M.S Suffolk.

The International Exhibition of Chinese Art at The Royal Academy of Arts was the first time that these pieces had ever been seen in Europe. Find our more about this historic exhibit, please visit the Royal Academy's website : https://www.royalacademy.org.uk/.../1935-36-international...
